The Tank Series has developed through the Mason’s aesthetic into recognisable variations ie. Tank Cintree with extended and curved case, Tank Must with unusual dial configurations, Tank Normale with petite proportions, Tank A Vis with extruded case and Tank Dual-Time with two dials - all entailed within a singular, minimal and iconic execution. Following the release of the infamous Asymetrique in 1936, Cartier sought to integrate the tank with an inseparable bracelet and case after three decades - The Tank Francaise.

The Francaise series updated the traditional Tank with a chain-link bracelet and deployant clasp, set boldly with a gentle curvature upon the wrist. In my opinion this model is highly unisex and the case size wears slightly larger in similar condition to a 36mm Datejust. The central Guilloche dial protrudes strong layering and depth to its steel blue hands and imprinted Roman numerals.

With the new release of the Tank Francaise, the earlier release appears as even more desirable with integrated date window, Guilloche dial, thick imprinted indices and an even much, much more discounted price.
