Celebrating the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Omega released 5 limited variations of Speedmaster offered exclusively in Japan. At the time this release was allocated as a 5-watch set (55 Worldwide) or individually numbered to 2020 pieces as a reflection and commemoration of the nation’s milestone.

The Rising Sun gained its nickname due to its hue proximity to that of the red circle as a signature within the Japanese nation symbol. Featuring a grey/silver dial that sparkles in the sun and an understated burgundy bezel, we believe this timepiece conveys a strong textural depth and reaction to light. White gold indices are paired with subtle shades of red throughout the dial further refines tis glittery grey finish. The addition of glide-lock bracelet offers easily sizeable options depending on the season, temperature and humidity. Chronograph caliber 1861 presents an undoubtably versatile presence and reliability across generations of Speedmasters.

We have seen a significant amount of editions on Omega Speedmaster in recent years and this is one of the most commemorative and quality releases. In our opinion a relaxed yet sophisticated piece - an element we tend to look for in recent years.
