Following its inception towards Mount Everest in 1953, the first generation Rolex Explorer ‘1016’ remained as one of Rolex’s longest production span with a highly respected and collectible status. In our opinion the modern development of an Explorer has always combined reliability, proportion and function in the most reductive way. The Explorer II has always made us think back to the era filled with adventurers and mountaineers challenging the most extreme conditions and requiring immense reliability and versatility. Our very first Rolex is the 5-digit Polar and to this date we remember how comfortable and wearable it was.
