The one watch collection.

The Rolex Explorer is perhaps one of the most celebrated, known and produced utilitarian watches to date. Following its inception towards Mount Everest in 1953, the first generation Rolex Explorer ‘1016’ remained as one of Rolex’s longest production span with a highly respected and collectible status. The iconic 3,6,9 setting among earliest Explorers has encompassed its DNA and influenced multiple wristwatches by any other watchmakers. In our opinion, the modern development of an Explorer has always combined reliability, proportion and function in the most reductive way. 

While the first generation Ref. 1016 and the recent addition of Ref. 124270 has gained much attention, the 114270 is a sleeper between the early millennium and current line-up with a moderate bezel proportion taking cue from the vintage counterparts with a folded clasp bracelet in the same system as the 5 digit Submariners. This particular piece is worn under few times, presented pristine condition with no marks or scratches. A simplistic and subtle watch to perhaps become the only one to sustain, if so as a ‘one watch collection’ - a daily necessity of the modern journeyman.
