Dating back to 1931, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual remains as a significant perpetuator throughout the development of its successors. It has no doubt laid a strong and versatile foundation for endeavors to the ocean (Pre-Submariner Monometre - Ref.6202), the land (Explorer - Ref.1016) and the sky (Air-King - Ref.5500).

Although the exposure of Daytona, Submariner and GMT Master II in recent years have gained prominent attention across the Rolex spectrum, the very first Rolex still occupies quite a special place in my heart - The Oyster Perpetual. There are the days when you can walk into a little shop and select the variations of the bubble-back, dial and material combinations all within a 34mm package. This current offering exactly reflects the petite nature of the vintage oyster perpetual and stayed much under the radar in recent years.

The pink dial reflects light exceptionally well with a slight gradient between white, purple and red depending on the sun and shadow direction. It is certainly an elegant and subtle piece for those discerned.
