READINGS

I think in terms of recent releases Tudor has really been cautious of user budget. With the watch market becoming more and more competitive in the ’steel sports’ category each year brands are looking to ramp it up to be able to stay relevant.

Tudor have hit the mark on this one. The Black Bay Pro is a combination of functionality and wearability coming in at a great size of 39mm with fixed 24 hour bezel. GMT function makes it your perfect turn travel watch and paired with a price tag doesn’t burn a huge hole in the pocket.

The Pro looks as though it’s taken inspiration from the Explorer 2. Featuring a matte black dial and a satin finished steel case. The steel bracelet is super comfortable and really helps emphasise the yellow GMT hand. The old faithful is back in the form of the MT5652 GMT movement with 70 hour power reserve. Also carrying 200 metres of water resistance.

The Pro has a vintage inspired feel and isn’t too ‘in your face’ subtle wearer and almost perfectly proportioned at 39mm. It’s easy to wear and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I think this a show of what Tudor has to come and to me they are definitely heading in the right direction.

I don’t think it gets much better than this in terms of GMT watches.
