An iconic and significant piece, the Vacheron Constantin is heralded long as an extension of reference 222 and is the third generation following its belated cousin, the 42042. Throughout half a century of development, the design language of the bezel incorporating the Maltese cross, the case lugs and proportion remain consistent and pays homage to those in search for both modern and vintage, grandeur and restraint, form and function. Perhaps the watch itself has spoken for its own.

The 7900V incorporates a dual time zone with a day-night indicator with date hand to equip for the best traveler and journeyman - with a sparkling silver-champagne dial that radiates its glamour across the morning sun, afternoon shades and evening candles. Beach attire? A rubber strap will complement the sandy bay. Black tie and romantic evening? A leather strap shall seal the table. Wedding day? The photographer will include an additional album just for the watch. Whether you are sailing on the yacht or enjoying the flight, the functionality of the dual-time and red hand remains intact and resourceful. Indexes and hands are Super-Luminova and assist reading any time of the year. 

The piece carries Calibre 5110DT, created in-house bearing the infamous Geneva Seal, certified to embody the excellence of watchmaking. The rotor is finished with a sun motif and proudly brings Vacheron Constantin’s legacy to the next generation. In my opinion a combination in the best of both worlds. The piece is acquired from its original owner in 2022 and kept unworn.
